This is a 38 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time only

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
This post is for a temporary Pupil Support Worker (27.5hrs/wk sessional) to support work in the Pupil Support Faculty for the 21/22 session.
You will work in a team 5 PSWs (including this post) for the session.
The start date will be as soon as the successful applicant can begin (after normal pre-employment checks) and it ends on 30th June 2022.
The position requires someone with an ability to set high standards which challenge and inspire pupils to high achievement.
You will require an ability to work successfully with others in a wide range of school matters sharing responsibility for decision making.
You will also require an ability to maintain a sense of humour and a sense of perspective.

Dunbar Grammar is a six-year, fully inclusive, comprehensive, non-denominational and co-educational school. It serves the town of Dunbar and the surrounding area. It is one of six secondary schools in East Lothian.
The present building was opened in 1961 and is situated in an attractive site in the centre of Dunbar. It has spacious playground areas and a games field within the school grounds.
The school is fully equipped for disabled access.
The school has been completely redeveloped as part of East Lothian Council's Private and Public Partnership scheme and as a result boasts excellent facilities, including a Games Hall, Fitness Room, Drama Studio and Recording Studio.
The associated primary schools are Dunbar PS, West Barn's PS, Stenton PS, Innerwick PS and East Linton PS.
The school roll in September 2020 was 1081 but due to extensive building work in Dunbar and the surrounding area the school rolll is still growing.
At Dunbar Grammar we believe that every child has a gift in at least one area of the curriculum. The challenge facing us as teachers is to allow children the opportunity to discover and develop that gift.
As part of the Pupil Support Team, provide support to secondary aged pupils (including Pupil Support Base) with a range of social emotional and behavioural difficulties in accordance with agreed aims, objectives and standards.

A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4
