East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership serves a diverse, semi-rural community of approximately 105,000 people. Excellent road and rail links make us easily accessible from Fife, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders. 

We are seeking a highly motivated Service Manager to join the Health and Social Care team in East Lothian with responsibility for the Adult Resource Centres, Shared Lives and the Learning Disability Social Work and Community Learning Disability teams

The ideal candidate will be someone who is motivated to drive service improvement throughout the workforce. Along with providing operational management and leadership to a workforce of Social workers, Community care workers, Nurses, AHP and social care staff, the successful candidate will contribute to the strategic development of the service, supporting the General Manager to set direction and drive improvement.

We are seeking an individual who will provide strong leadership, delivering and modelling collaborative working within a multi professional partnership. Utilising contributions from all to deliver optimal integrated services.  

The successful candidate will work in partnership with senior managers across the HSCP to support the delivery of the strategic objectives of the Integrated Joint Board, and drive the delivery of a multi professional workforce.

Job Details

To operationally manage the NHS and Social Care services across all Learning Disability services, including responsibility for the employees and budgets and for ensuring efficiency, productivity and performance targets are achieved.

To support professional leadership and assure governance standards for all employees, and service delivery in the area of responsibility.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Registered Social Worker or First Level Registered General Nurse or Allied Health Professional.

Post Graduate professional qualification at diploma / degree level or in health / social care / social science related subject

Leadership/managerial postgraduate qualification or equivalent managerial experience including:
o Supervising multiple teams of staff.
o Managing budgets at significant levels, e.g. £1m+.
o Leading change as opposed to contributing to a programme of change.
o Performance management of staff e.g. management of grievances/ disciplinary proceedings.
o Delivering on KPIs of a service for which they have been responsible.

Driving Licence 
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
