We are seeking to provide an opportunity for an enthusiastic team player to work towards an SVQ Active Leisure, Learning & wellbeing: Operational Services Level 2 while working as part of a team in Sports Operations. Applicants must be aged between 16 and 24 years.

The Leisure industry is a dynamic place to work and every day you will help our customers and members of the public to engage with activities which will help them lead healthier, more active and more enriched lives. Working as part of the leisure team you will be at the heart of the delivery of front line services to the public, ensuring customers are safety and included in their local leisure and cultural venues. Where necessary you will provide trained assistance, which in some cases may be in the form of lifesaving skills. This role also involves many of the route aspects required in managing a pleasant customer experience in a leisure venues such as equipment setups and cleaning duties.

Ideally you will have a current RLSS Pool Lifeguard qualification or equivalent, or you must gain the qualification as part of the offered pre-employment training course.

You should have good communication skills, knowledge of excellent customer care issues and be able to work in a team environment. Ability to work shift and irregular hours including weekends is required.

Candidates’ who are successful in advancing to interview stage, will be required to undertake a water competency test which will involve:

 Jump/Dive into deep water

 Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds

 Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water

 Tread Water for 30 seconds

 Surface dive to the floor of the pool

 Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design allows
