The refuse collection service involves waste collections from households (domestic, recycling and food/garden wastes), commercial properties and from outlying areas within East Renfrewshire. Refuse collectors are expected to be fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions and often within time constraints set by the work pattern of the particular route. The work will involve a variety of collection processes including wheeled bin operations, sack collections, recycle box collection and materials sorting.
Daily starting time is 7.30am but individual route agreements may require flexibility for a 6.30am start. In either case, the total hours worked shall be 37 based on a Monday to Friday operation.
