Following our innovative redesign of children’s services in East Renfrewshire, we are looking for energetic and committed individuals who have the professional skills, knowledge and personal drive to join us to deliver services to vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Within Children’s Services, our interventions are focussed on sustaining children and young people in their home community, where it is safe to do so and enabling children to have the best possible chance in life to realise their full potential.
As part of our Community Social Work Team, post holders will work with children, young people and their families who have a level of complexity that impacts upon their wellbeing and which may be significantly further impacted without the provision of services. This includes some children who are at risk of harm and where there are child protection concerns as well as children and young people with a disability. For many children, the adults in their lives may also require assistance, support and information.
You will, therefore, have good assessment and interpersonal skills and understand the need to balance and manage risk to work co-productively with children, young people, families and partner organisations to support children to achieve improved, meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
In return, you will benefit from joining a service that continues to develop new methods of working, where staff have the opportunity to develop their skills to ensure a motivated and competent workforce that promotes creativity and innovation to include evidence-based practice approaches.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults.
