East Renfrewshire has a well-established reputation for delivering high quality and innovative council services while being one of the best places to live in Scotland. Our reputation is built on hard work and a relentless drive to improve and do even better. We are looking for a dynamic individual to help support the Council and its Community Planning Partners to:

  1. Develop and deliver our ambitious long-term strategic plans for East Renfrewshire alongside our communities and residents; and
  2. To ensure our pandemic recovery and renewal plans are fully embedded into our operational and strategic planning.

You will be energetic, a team player and confident communicator who understands partnership working, multi-agency strategic planning, performance management and stakeholder engagement.  You will be comfortable engaging and working with both communities and technology. You will be well organised, have initiative, excellent situational judgement and a problem-solving and learning mind-set. Using excellent planning, critical thinking and analytical skills, you will coordinate and implement the Councils response to pandemic recovery and the cost-of-living challenges.

You will bring a sound, working knowledge of legislation that informs Best Value, community empowerment and equalities and have skills in undertaking socio-economic analysis that helps us close inequalities gaps and shape our future policy and plans. Your written work and communication style must be excellent: clear and concise, well structured – jargon free and easy to understand.

You will embrace our values of kindness, ambition and trust.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.

Please note – all applicants will be asked to provide proof of their right to work in the UK, and any offer of employment will be conditional upon verifying documentary evidence before employment commences.  Further information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work

East Renfrewshire Council does not provide sponsorship to people without the appropriate immigration permission to work in the UK.
