Job Advert

Do you have experience of providing support in a family or work setting and want to make a difference to people’s lives?

Are you an enthusiastic, motivated, compassionate and flexible individual who understands and respects the rights of other people?  If so, we want you to come and join our care at home teams in Falkirk.

Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership delivers high quality care and support to people of all ages and with varying levels of need.  Your role will include supporting service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and improve independence.

Our service operates 7 days per week between 7am and 11pm across the Falkirk Council area.

You will work on an as and when required basis.

As an employee, you would receive a wide range of benefits including:

  • induction and developmental training
  • an hourly rate of £10.19
  • payment on a monthly basis for accrued annual leave calculated as a % of casual hours worked in the previous month
  • professional qualification (SVQ 2 Health & Social Care)
  • local government pension scheme
  • travel costs between visits are reimbursed within HMRC levels

A level of flexibility is required to meet the exigencies of the service; as a result, it would be advantageous to hold a current driving licence and to have access to a car.  The service also has pool cars available.  In addition, we have walking rotas operating across our service.

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council within the first 6 months of working with Falkirk Council is a requirement of the post.  You will also be required to achieve an SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care within an agreed timescale if you have not already achieved this award.

If you are the successful candidate for the role of Casual Personal Carer, you will be working with children and/or vulnerable adults which is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007; therefore you must have PVG membership or undergo a PVG scheme update.

All posts involve lone working.

If you would like an informal chat or to find out further information on what being a Casual Personal Carer means please contact Lynn Adams, Alison Blair or Lana Ray on 01324 506070.
