You will attend to the personal, social, recreational, and emotional needs of older people within a residential setting and provide a stimulating environment.
The primary aim is to initiate and develop a programme of meaningful activity which is informed by the needs, preferences and interests of the residents with the purpose of maintaining and/or improving quality of life.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.
You will have good communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with the service users, their families, staff colleagues and outside agencies.
You must have the ability to provide a regular and effective service.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland
Consultation with the Service User in order to provide a range of social, recreational and educational activities in accordance with individuals need and preferences. This will include the use of community resources to enhance the experience of service users.
Assist and enable service users to participate in a level of activity which is responsive to varying ability.
Undertake some physical care tasks to support service users with eating and drinking, using the toilet ( when required)
Maintain informative communication and co-ordination of activity programmes and outcomes with other staff in the unit and outside agencies as appropriate.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessment and care planning for individual service users.
Will be highly motivated, with arrange of interests and skills, have planning and organisation skills and be able to keep accurate records.
