Housing Services Income Poverty & Private Housing Team manages a wide range of services in relation to private sector housing. You will be responsible for the delivery of the Council’s regulatory function in relation to the private housing sector or the development of a housing factoring service.

Responsible for ensuring high quality private sector housing services through the implementation of legislative standards, Council policies, prescribed processes and self-developed solutions. As Housing Management Officer you will be required to deliver high quality customer care and advice, supporting private owners, landlords, tenants and other stakeholders.
The post holder will be responsible for liaising and communicating effectively at all levels internally and externally in relation to mutual repairs, landlord registration, licensing of houses of multiple occupancy, factoring and empty homes. You will be working within local communities to provide customers and partners with information, advice, guidance and support in relation to private housing issues to meet performance targets and ensure the delivery of excellent housing services.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland..
You must possess:
Ability to deliver housing services through field-based working
Ability to provide a regular and effective service
Experience of assessing and appraising complex information, problems or situations (Deliver results)
Time management skills
Knowledge of housing policy and practices, housing advice and housing standards
Customer care skills (Focus on customer) & experience of assertive case management
Experience of partnership working in Council / private sector housing improvement
Budget management and communication & organisational skills
