Fife Council Planning Service is pleased to offer an opportunity for an experienced, chartered town planner to step up to a leadership role. Working as a Lead Officer in Fife, you would have an important role in the management of one of Scotland’s award-winning planning authorities. The post is within our planning application processing teams, where supporting post-Covid economic recovery and creating great places for the people and businesses of Fife will be key.

In Fife we are also passionate about developing our staff and our Lead Officers have a critical role in this process. If you are passionate about planning and have the skills to motivate and support others, we’d love to hear from you.

The Person

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude to customer care and significant experience of working with large multi-national and national companies. You should have exceptional planning knowledge and the operational, problem solving, project management and communication skills needed to deliver an excellent planning service to our key customers.

Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a level of competence and knowledge of planning commensurate with the post. In addition, applicants must hold a degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning as well as being a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (Membership must be retained whilst holding this post).
