Job Details
Multi Systemic Therapy is an intensive family and community based intervention for children and young people aged between 10 -17, where young people are at risk of out of home placement due to their offending or severe behaviour problems.
The key goals of MST are to break the cycle of anti social behaviours by keeping young people safely at home, in school and out of trouble. For more information about MST please go to www.mstuk.org.
In Fife, MST is well established with over ten years of positive outcomes and is part of the wider successful Belonging to Fife strategy, which seeks to support young people to live at home with their families when it is safe to do so.
The role is to provide specialist assessment and intervention within the MST Service, with a caseload of between 4-6 families and the successful candidate must be able to participate in a 24 hour, 7 days a week on call rota with support from an on call supervisor. Interventions are evidence based, and include CBT, and Family Therapy approaches.
We are looking for individuals with experience in working effectively with young people and families with multiple problems and challenging behaviours, and who seek to take accountability for a challenging caseload with high levels of supervision and support. 5/ 6 day MST standard training is provided via MST UK.
The individual will be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a degree or equivalent in Social work, Applied Pyschology, Mental health Nursing or equivalent. Workers new to the role must gain registration with relevant regulatory body, if applicable, within six months of start date.
For an informal discussion please contact Vicki Cassells, MST Programme Manager via vicki.cassells@fife.gov.uk
