Residential Childcare Manager

This role involves a leadership & management role within our Residential Houses, it is a 3 bedded house which provides support to young people aged 12 and under.

You will be expected to:

• oversee all Leadership & Management tasks within the House, including, provision of Supervision, oversight of a Staff Rota, Co-Ordinating Care Planning Meetings, producing Care Plans, chairing Team Meetings, finance checks, Health & Safety Audits, Medication Audits.
• ensure young people are supported by a staff team who provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for young people in their care.
• ensure care staff provide appropriate levels of supervision and attunement to young people, making themselves available to young people at times of need.
• work with young people to support them to manage risk.
• see beyond presenting behaviours and to demonstrate compassion and empathy.
• uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.

The Person

• Significant experience of working with young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences.
• Significant experience of working in a Residential Childcare environment.
• In depth understanding of the concepts and principles of Attachment Promoting & Trauma Informed Care.
• Significant experience of leading staff teams within a Residential Childcare environment.
• Educated to at least SCQF Level 8, which includes HND, SVQ Level 4 (Children & Young People) or Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Masters in Advanced Residential Childcare.
• A full driving licence is ideally preferred, or a willingness to travel throughout Fife using public transport.
