You will join a busy children and families social work service at a time when we are redesigning to enhance the links that our teams have with our communities and partners, maximising our ability to deliver The Promise.

You will add capacity to the management team and allow us to target management capacity where we need it most across Fife supporting transformational change. This will include the line management of teams or groups of staff; contributing to strategic groups to deliver the Belonging to Fife strategy as well as undertaking time limited projects or tasks. The task range of the successful candidate will include:

  • Management and supervision of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants.
  • Allocation of and quality assurance of work.
  • Budget management.
  • Chairing a range of complex meetings.
  • Preparing reports, data analysis and self -evaluation activity
  • Contributing to strategic groups and leading on areas of service improvement

You will manage staff involved in key decision-making meetings for example Child Protection Case Conferences, Looked After Reviews and Pathway Reviews as well as lead work associated with Corporate Parenting duties. Both Teams have regulatory duties and functions supporting the effective delivery of services with an important focus on engagement and participation of children, young people, and families. Working across the children services partnership to drive up standards and improve outcomes for children and young people is a key area of responsibility.

If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we’d like to hear from you:

  • Qualified to SCQF level 11 which includes a Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Social Work and post graduate qualification

You should have:

  • experience in managing and leading teams to achieve positive outcomes
  • experience of working in a children and families setting and community planning partnership
  • experience of. supervision and chairing complex
  • experience of quality assurance and improvement projects
  • experience in partnership working to a high level
