Job Details

The role of Technical Inspector is to provide an inspection service in line with Fife Council’s Road Asset Condition Inspections – Policy and Standards, and to ensure that roads, footways, cycle routes and footpaths are maintained to a safe standard allowing consistent safe passage of network users.

Main duties will include undertaking inspections and surveys to ensure that Roads and Transportation assets are maintained safely, investigating internal and external enquiries, preparation and supervision of patching programmes and liaising with other teams within the service as necessary.

We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.

The Person

Candidates should be educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at credit level including Maths and English at level 3 or above, or equivalent.

You should have experience of working in an office using current computer-based applications to carry out a range of duties. Good communication skills are necessary including an awareness of customer care with telephone, email and face to face enquiries.

You should be able to work as part of a team or on your own as required.

Candidates should hold a full UK driving licence.
