Service Manager

Job Description

Accountable to the head of care services, this post has significant areas of responsibility.

The service manager functions across, operational management, strategic direction and leadership for Care at Home and Alarm response service on behalf Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), all are citywide services operating in all three localities.

The core responsibilities include overall operational management and strategic leadership.
This includes ensuring care at home services perform well and the quality of care offered is of a high standard.

Care at home services employing 3800 Social Care staff, all are designed to deliver support to our most frail elderly citizens.

You must have substantial experience of people, financial and resource management, as well as service development and evaluation. You must also be able to demonstrate commitment and have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire people to improve performance and public services.

The Postholders will participate in an out of hour’s standby rota.

Applicants should be educated to Degree Level or equivalent, such as a degree and relevant professional qualification, with significant senior management experience within a large, complex organisation, preferably within the NHS / Local Authority or Public / Caring Sector.  Experience of managing at a senior level in a multidisciplinary and multiagency environment with responsibility for care, staff and financial governance, is also required.
