Social Care Assistant - Night posts only (12 hour shifts) - 20 Posts - (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Job Description

If you are looking for a career which makes a positive difference, then being a Social Care Assistant in one of our care homes for older people could be for you.  Our Glasgow City Care Homes provide care and support in enabling surroundings to our residents 24/7 where you would work 12 hour shifts.  You should hold values which promote the well-being of older people and a desire to support others with compassion and kindness while respecting their rights and choices within their daily lives. To work in Social Care you need the right qualities, but you gain the qualifications while in the job. This post will require you to have a suitable qualification to allow you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as a support worker within a care home.  Glasgow City Council will provide support and meet the cost for undertaking this requirement.

Hours of work will be 35 hour and 24 hour posts. Salary for part time posts will be pro –rata.

Meadowburn Care Home, 188 Leithland Road, G53 5AQ                                
Victoria Gardens Care Home, 1 Blawarthill Place, Glasgow G13 3BE

Current SSSC Registration or registered within 6 months of start date.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment.

These posts are accepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
