Job Description

Glasgow Life is the charity providing the support, inspiration and opportunity for Glasgow’s citizens to access the services that matter most to them.  Working across museums, the arts, music, sport, world-class events, festivals, libraries, community facilities, and physical activity, learning and heritage programmes; the scale and reach of our activity makes a real and positive impact on the lives of Glasgow’s residents and creates unforgettable experiences for our visitors.

We are recruiting a HR Officer, to join our 3,000 strong team of dedicated staff and volunteers.  You will provide support, advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of Glasgow Life’s terms and conditions and policies including employee relations, recruitment, workforce planning and HR Information. This post is a fixed term role until March 2024.

Our HR team love working in an environment where we have a genuine opportunity to influence senior managers and support in shaping the future direction of service delivery.  We enjoy supporting the organisation and colleagues on a culture journey, making a real difference to the external environment which the organisation needs to respond to. The role requires an ability to work collaboratively and influence diverse groups of managers and staff and stakeholders including trade unions.

Who are we looking for?
You’ll be a customer focused HR with great communication skills. 
You’ll be able to build effective relationships with managers, trade union representatives and staff, gaining credibility, respect and confidence.  
You’ll be resilient and used to dealing with a busy workload in a pressurised environment and will have well developed organisation and prioritisation skills.
