Job Description

Glasgow Life is the charity providing the support, inspiration and opportunity for Glasgow’s citizens to access the services that matter most to them.  Working across museums, the arts, music, sport, world-class events, festivals, libraries, community facilities, and physical activity, learning and heritage programmes; the scale and reach of our activity makes a real and positive impact on the lives of Glasgow’s residents and creates unforgettable experiences for our visitors.
Our HR Team love working in an environment where they have a genuine opportunity to influence senior managers and support in shaping the future direction of service delivery.  They enjoy supporting the organisation and colleagues on a culture journey, making a real difference to the external environment which the organisation needs to respond to.  If this sounds like you then it would be great to hear from you.
As Resourcing and Equalities Adviser, you will play a critical role in delivering Glasgow Life’s people strategy by supporting and influencing the organisation to embed future focused recruitment and resourcing options and solutions.   You'll be proactive in delivering a high-quality recruitment service and be our expert adviser on all things resourcing, including redeployment.  You will understand our needs and pre-empt demand. We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering the best standards and who will help us take our resourcing capability to the next level.
Who are we looking for?
You’ll be a customer focused HR professional with significant experience in a similar role within a diverse, complex, multi-disciplinary organisation providing expert advice and guidance.  Your communication skills will be second to none, allowing you to build effective relationships with managers, trade unions and staff, gaining credibility, respect and confidence.  You’ll be resilient and used to dealing with a busy workload in a pressurised environment and will have well developed organisation and prioritisation skills.  You’ll be someone who relishes challenge and enjoys developing effective solutions whilst utilising your detailed knowledge and understanding of employee relations, employment legislation and good practice.
Glasgow Life is like few other organisations, in that everything we do has a powerful impact on the citizens and visitors of Glasgow, from hosting the 2020 European Championships to running the city’s iconic venues such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Emirates Arena and Mitchell Library.
In return we can offer a generous holiday allowance of 29 days (rising to 34 days after 5 years), plus 6.5 public holidays.  You will also be eligible to join the Strathclyde pension fund, one of the largest local authority pension providers in the UK.  Additional staff benefits include staff discounts, annual leave purchase scheme, flexible retirement and family friendly policies.
