Job Description

Glasgow Life’s Arts and Music Programme inspires, connects and improves the lives of the people of Glasgow through a diverse programme of festivals, events, projects, learning and engagement opportunities, community initiatives and advocacy.

We are currently recruiting for a fixed-term part-time Senior Arts Producer (Creative Communities). The Senior Arts Producer will oversee and manage our Creative Communities programme, which covers three main areas of work - an embedded Artists in Communities programme, year round Community Touring activity and Creative Intervention work. 

The post is part-time (21 hours a week) for 16 months with a potential option to extend (depending on funding).

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of, and and networks within, the arts and community sectors in Glasgow as well as connections with national and sector development bodies across Scotland. The candidate will have worked extensively in an arts management role, producing and delivering activities and events to a high quality.

Key Responsibilities
 Oversee and manage the planning, delivery and reporting of Glasgow Life's Creative Communities programme, which covers our Community Touring network, Artists in Communities programme and Creative Intervention partnership work;
 Support and collaborate with the wider AMCV team on key activities and initiatives as required
 Oversee the content and budget of all Creative Communities programmes
 Support, develop and enhance Glasgow Arts' relationships and partnerships with organisations, stakeholders and projects across the city and across multiple sectors
 Represent and advocate for the GL Arts and Music team both within Glasgow Life and in the broader arts and community networks
 Act as a key point of contact for Glasgow Life's support services, including HR, Marketing and Admin, as well maintain and develop relationships with other service areas including GCC Education, NRS, Health and Social Care and GL Communities and Libraries.
 Lead on and implement project evaluation and reporting.

The Arts team has a base in Tramway with a team of Area Arts Producers working extensively in their own areas as required. 

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:
• Education to degree level in arts or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
• Experience managing, developing and producing creative and/or community-based activity
• Strong working knowledge of the arts and community sectors in Glasgow and Scotland
• Strong project-management skills with an ability to effectively prioritise work to set and meet targets and deadlines
• Experience of working with a diverse range of funders and stakeholders and liaising and co-ordinating activities with complex partnership arrangements
• Ability to manage delegated budgets
• Excellent communication skills, including digital and IT skills
• Ability to lead a small, busy and high-performing team
