The Glasgow 2018 European Championships is a new multi-sport event which will be held in Glasgow and Berlin in the summer of 2018. More than 8000 athletes, officials and media are expected in Glasgow and Scotland with a potential television audience of more than one billion.
Funded jointly by the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council this new event will be organised in partnership with the international and national sports federations for each of the participating sports. The Glasgow 2018 European Championships will allow Glasgow and Scotland to continue to build on the economic, cultural and sporting legacy achieved by staging the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
The C3 Manager will be based within the Safety, Security and Medical Functional Area and will be responsible for managing Command, Coordination and Communication (C3) at the Championships. The post holder will have experience of developing and managing C3 structures at previous events. The post holder will be responsible for establishing and managing the daily rhythm of the Championships and ensuring all partner agencies are fully engaged within the C3 structure.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the inaugural edition of this exciting event as it makes its world sporting calendar debut.
The successful candidate must be able to commit to evening and weekend working shortly before, and during, the Championships. Restrictions on annual leave will also be necessary in the summer of 2018.
The successful candidate will be based at Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow.
