Job Description

Glasgow City Council, Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability seek a senior manager with significant parking experience who can lead and manage the Parking Services Team, taking an active role in the leadership of the assessment, implementation, and enforcement of new and existing parking regulations. 
The Parking Services team includes design and delivery teams, car park management and enforcement of parking regulations. The successful candidate will also have day to day responsibility for Bus Lane Enforcement, the enforcement of the City Centre Low Emission Zone and the Council's Bus Shelter advertising contract. The Parking Services team collaborates with teams responsible for roads maintenance, asset management, street lighting and frontline operational teams to design and deliver a large and varied portfolio of exciting highway engineering and public realm projects across the city.
Projects range in size and complexity and include controlled parking zones, various other parking restriction schemes, road safety improvements, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, and maintenance of existing parking assets. 
You must have previous managerial experience in parking services and have extensive knowledge/experience of statutory duties and CDM regulations. Experienced in contract, programme, and risk management, you must have the ability to organise, lead and motivate a team, deal with change, cope with pressure and be comfortable working in a political environment. A Degree and/or Post Graduate management/business qualification, excellent communication skills, IT skills, and a current driving licence are essential.
The ability to build relationships, influence at senior levels both internally and externally, manage projects and resources, challenge and innovate are all essential requirements as is the ability to motivate the team and provide strong leadership.
