Job Description

If you are looking for a career which makes a positive difference, then being a Social Care Assistant in one of our care homes for older people could be for you.  Our Glasgow City Care Homes provide care and support in enabling surroundings to our residents 24/7 where you would work 12 or 7 hour shifts.  You should hold values which promote the well-being of older people and a desire to support others with compassion and kindness while respecting their rights and choices within their daily lives. This post will require you to have a suitable qualification to allow you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as a support worker within a care home.  Glasgow City Council will provide support and meet the cost for undertaking this requirement.

Hours of work will be 35 hour and 24 hour posts.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Salary for part time posts will be pro –rata.
