Job Description

In response to the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis we seek to recruit social care staff to assist in the necessary arrangements to provide a warm welcome to Glasgow.

These positions will require excellent communication skills and an ability to work closely with key partners ensuring those arriving from Ukraine are equipped with the necessary support in which to integrate into Glasgow communities.  This position will require a sensitive and trauma informed approach preferably with a background in asylum seeking although not compulsory. 

You will hold significant social care experience and will be adept at working in partnership with key stakeholders ensuring the needs of service users are met accordingly. You will be required to respond rapidly to inquiries from those hosting Ukrainian families in their home and undertake home visits ensuring all the necessary supports are in place.  You will also be required to in-reach to the Glasgow Hub hotel assessing the needs of those arriving as part of the Scotland Super Sponsorship scheme and ensure smooth transition to more settled accommodation.   

Sound interpersonal, organisation and communication skills will be critical qualities and a requirement to demonstrate a flexible approach will also be key to the success of these positions.  You will be located within Glasgow Asylum Refugee Team and report directly to the Team Leader who has responsibility for this service.
