Post Title:    Early Years Practitioner - Modern Apprenticeship 
Location:     Aviemore Primary School
Hours:          35 hours per week
Duration:     Fixed Term for 18 months
Salary:          £18,018

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose:  The prime purpose of the Early Years Practitioner is to deliver a flexible, high quality, early learning and childcare service that meets the needs of children and their families.  Supporting the young learners in meeting needs generally.  In particular, this will include helping children to develop independently and to promote their self-caring skills.  The early years practitioner will offer support, warmth, and respect to more children in a way that contributes to their learning.  


Prior to confirming appointment, we will require successful candidates to become members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification which is the SVQ 3 social services (children and young people) at SCQF level 7. 

This is an 18-month Modern Apprenticeship programme. The successful candidate must be willing to undertake some self-study.

Good general level of education. National 5 in English and Maths desirable
Undertake foundation training and induction, achieving milestone targets, for 6 months prior to starting SVQ 3
