The Building Standards section is responsible for delivering a range of services related to both its statutory duties under the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and also that of its verification role, to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people in and around buildings; to further the conservation of fuel and power; and further the achievement of sustainable development.
The post holder will be familiar with Verification duties relating to Compliance and Reasonable Inquiry and will contribute to the development of the Key Performance Outcomes presently being introduced.
The post holder will be required to inspect defective and/or dangerous buildings and take the necessary enforcement action related to these statutory functions.
