We are looking for an experienced Organisational Development professional to join our Organisational Development team at an exciting time as we set out our plans to deliver the priorities of our People & Organisational Development Strategy. The post-holder will support and deliver services to our community, partners and colleagues, and the OD team are instrumental in enabling our workforce to achieve this.

The Organisational Development Advisor role is a permanent post based at the Municipal Buildings in Greenock. Hybrid working is an option with a mixture of working from home and the office. 

The duties/remit of the role will be varied as it covers employee relations, trade union consultations and advice to service managers whilst improving our HR policies and procedures which link to our initiatives on learning and development, succession planning, talent development, change management and workforce development and more.

Our priorities for the year ahead will see us focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce and exploring new ways of fostering a culture that empowers a well-informed and engaged workforce. We will drive and support the transition towards new ways of working, including how we use workplaces, office spaces, equipment, technology and work together to deliver our services.

To succeed in this role, you will require to have Degree or P.G. Diploma in Human Resource Management, or equivalent i.e. relevant CIPD Level 5 (SCQF 9) and have experience of supporting organisational objectives through the development of creative solutions that engage the workforce and enable them to develop their skills. You will have a background in developing, delivering, and evaluating learning and development programmes, including leadership and management development.

Vetting by Disclosure Scotland

A small number of posts require a Standard or Basic Disclosure check and the majority of all other posts will complete a Criminal Convictions Form. Working from Home / Interim Hybrid working

Inverclyde Council comply with all government covid-19 regulations and legislation regarding working from home which is still the default position. Currently many staff are working from home on a partial basis for part of the week. We are also intending to roll out an interim hybrid working pilot from the new year (date to be confirmed) which has a minimum 50% work location attendance if applicable. This can be discussed at interview with the recruiting manager.
