This is an exciting opportunity to build your software/applications knowledge and experience, working with services across the whole council.

Based in Midlothian House as part of the Business Applications Team within Business Services, you will provide support for staff utilising a number of Council systems as follows:

Post 1 - applications including Total Repairs (Building Maintenance, Roads, Fleet Job Costing system), Fotress Fuel Management system and Legend (Sport & Leisure Management system).

Post 2 – applications including MOSAIC (Social Work Case Management System) & CM2000 (Homecare system)

Working closely with staff in services, you will support the implementation, testing and upgrades, and ongoing development of these systems/applications and associated business processes. You will deliver training to system users as required and ensure that any required periodic processing and production of reports is completed accurately and according to timetables.

Please ensure that you evidence the essential and desirable criteria below in your application as far as possible, using specific examples where possible.



Jobholders must be educated to SVQ level 3/ in a relevant subject such as HNC Information Technology, Information Management, Business Information Systems, or evidence of equivalent competency along with evidence of numeracy and literacy at Higher Grade.



Evidence of advanced MS Excel skills.

Evidence developed interpersonal skills to agree and implement changes in procedures.

An understanding of the relevant legislation associated with the retention of information.


Evidence of the ability to produce and manipulate data for a variety of uses using various query and reporting tools.

Previous Systems Administration experience including the provision of helpdesk service to colleagues and other stakeholders

Experience of the delivery of staff training.

Experience in the design and production of training/procedural/guidance documentation
