We are seeking to recruit a Community Waste Officer to provide general technical support within Waste Services.

Based at Stobhill Depot, the post holder will provide advice and guidance to residents on all aspects of waste management, reuse and recycling, help monitor the effectiveness of waste collection services and assist in the promotion of new initiatives.


The successful candidate will be confident in engaging with residents across a variety of channels to engage and support residents to reduce waste and increase the quality and quantity of waste collected for reuse/recycling.



Operational knowledge of recycling operations and legislation and Council policy.

Two Highers, including English, or SVQ equivalent combined with the necessary experience.

Experience of dealing with members of the public.

Good interpersonal and organisational skills with a high standard of literacy as well as knowledge of software including Microsoft packages. 

A full current UK driving licence


Experience of working in a busy office environment.
