Based at Lasswade High School, Eskdale Drive, Bonnyrigg, you will provide general IT technical support in particular installation and support services throughout the school. You will also provide assistance to the Support Staff when necessary, carrying out duties such as preparing worksheets, general filing and clerical work and answering telephone calls.
A pass at Higher Grade level, including a numeric or IT based subject, or evidence of equivalent competency is essential. You must provide evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills as well as general computing skills; SVQ3 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative.
It is essential that you have previous computing experience, demonstrating a working knowledge of the relevant developments in ICT. Good presentation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. A National Certificate in an IT related subject and experience in a school or education environment and the ability to work using own initiative are also essential.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on you working 36 hours over 39 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £17,306.02 per annum.
