The successful candidate will be located in Number 11, (Dalkeith) which is a recovery hub.  The Justice Service is co-located with statutory partners in the Substance Misuse Service, Psychological Therapy Service, Intensive Home Treatment Team and the Joint Mental Health Team.  Third sector partners are also co-located in Number 11 and include MELD, Health in Mind and Change Grow Live.   Due to Covd-19 restrictions there is an expectation and the successful candidate will be based as home for part of the working week.

KNOWLEDGE:

Essential

Diploma or degree in Social Work or as recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council.

An understanding of crime, its causes and impact on society; principles for effective practice;  principles of risk management and risk assessment alongside awareness of National Outcomes and Standards for Criminal Justice Social Work Services. Knowledge and experience of working with women and individuals/families impacted by domestic abuse.

 

Experience of working within Justice Social Work, specifically in the areas of working with Women and Domestic Abuse.

Full Driving Licence

Desirable

Experience of managing a team or developing a service to meet the needs of  people with multiple and complex needs who have been involved in offending behaviour.

A post-qualification award in a specialised service area, such as child protection, adult protection, practice teaching, mental health, criminal justice, SVQ assessor.

Training in the use of LSCMI , the Caledonian System and Safe and Together would also be desirable. However this training can be arranged post-appointment if required.

INTERVIEW DATE - The interviews will be held on 8th and 9th September 2022 and will be in person.               

The selection process will involve a second interview with service users and it is anticipated that this will be in the afternoon of 12th September.
