You will be actively involved in meeting customers and working on a range of digital projects, in an exciting, dynamic and changing environment.
Working for Digital Services, your goal will be to help develop, improve and deliver a number of digital projects across the Council. You will be working alongside a strong team of technical specialists in this challenging and rewarding role.
The successful applicant will be supported and developed in line with the changing demands of the organisation.
The Jobholder will demonstrate an understanding of project management disciplines, applying this in a practical way to the identification, application, design, delivery and evaluation of a range of activities/projects.
Essential Skills and qualifications:
- HNC, equivalent level qualification or project experince e.g. SVQ level 4 related subject.
- An understanding of projects with knowledge and experience of working within a project environment
- Experience of working to tight deadlines.
- Maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of organisations and individuals.
- ITIL Foundation Qualification
- Customer Service experience
- PRINCE2, SCRUM or equivalent qualification
- Previous project officer / management experience

Position Title: Project Officer

Contract Status: Fixed Term, 2 Years
Hours of Work: 36
Working Pattern: The standard working hours are 36 hours per week, Monday –Thursday 0900 hours to 1700 hours and Friday 0900 hours to 1530 hours for full time employees. There is a 30 minute unpaid break each day. Hours worked as part of an employee’s standard working day will be payable at the standard hourly rate for the post.
Weeks per year: 52
Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £27,200.39 per annum.
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a enhanced disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check is £25 and the successful candidate will be required to re-pay to the Council the fee through payroll deduction.
