Communities and Lifelong Learning (CLL) deliver a wide range of group work, learning activities and employability support to adults, young people, families and communities. The postholder will lead and deliver the key functions of the service through strategic planning and operational delivery, working with a variety of Council services, partners, community groups and local people of all ages..
It is essential that the jobholder is educated to degree level in Community Education or equivalent. S/he must understand the role, principles and values of Community Learning and Development practice and have an up to date knowledge of a wide variety of social policy and equality policies and strategies in Scotland. The jobholder must have post-qualifying experience in working with communities, adult learners and young people and partnership working. It is desirable that they hold assessor/verifier qualifications and/or a post graduate degree acceptable to external bodies such as SQA.
It is essential that the post holder is registered with CLD Standards Council.
