The Early Years Sector is expanding by 2020 across Scotland and the workforce will grow accordingly. In Midlothian we plan to offer a range of flexible working opportunities including part time and up to 50 weeks of the year. This is an exciting time to be entering such a dynamic sector of education. Supply work would enable you to gain experience in this sector, with a view to achieving success with future applications and further develop your career within Early Learning and Childcare.
As a Childcare & Development Worker working within a team, you will support children to improve educational, social and behavioural outcomes. You will use your own skills and initiative to contribute to activities and respond to the varied needs of individuals.
We are currently seeking people who have qualifications at SCQF Level 7, e.g. HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent, for Childcare & Development Worker supply posts within Midlothian.

Regulated Work with Children
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
