Job Vacancy
Midlothian Council are looking to employ trainees to work within their road services section to help deliver exciting projects in our local communities. The right candidates will be supported in their training to obtain and SVQ level 2 in road construction as well as various work based qualifications. Training will be a mix of on the job and block release to Edinburgh College. Successful candidates will learn a variety of skills to include kerb laying, drainage, the use of plant and tar laying. All delivered in a team work environment with a great success rate of trainee development and retention.
KNOWLEDGE:
Essential
Demonstrate an aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
A willingness to work outside in all weathers and in a team environment
Maths, English and a Science subject at a minimum level of National 5
Desirable
Driving licence or working towards
An interest in road maintenance and providing a local service.
