The children in Burnbrae Primary Social and Complex Needs Provision deserve excellent staff to support their learning and are aspirational for every child.

Applications for this post are invited from enthusiastic professionals who have the vision and energy to promote the high standards of this school. This provision is part of the building in Burnbrae Primary on Burnbrae Road. There are two classes each with five children and a team comprising Class Teachers, Learning Assistants, Youth Workers and a Principal Teacher.

 

You will work as part of a team with our vulnerable young people of primary school age with social and complex needs in a small group or 1:1. 

Your role is to build relationships with the children and encourage participation in activities and learning.

You  will:

  • Be responsible to the PT Social and complex Needs in the first instance as the school's representative, thereafter to DHT and HT.
  • Be involved in the general organisation of educational programmes through leading activities, working with children, arranging outings and events.
  • Support children with social and complex needs in understanding their behaviour and develop strategies to support them. 
  • Liaise with other services and parents where children may require support.
  • Complete Chid Protection and incident reporting forms as required.
  • Undertake appropriate additional tasks as identified by the PT

KNOWLEDGE

Fully trained jobholders must hold a minimum SVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work, or equivalent subject, and have experience leading youth activities.

 

Youth Worker (B) Experienced jobholders who have not yet attained theSVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work but are currently studying towards it will be paid at scp 35.

 

Youth Worker (A) jobholders who can demonstrate literacy and numeracy equivalent to standard grade level 3 and who have considerable youth work experience will be paid at scp 31.

Based on you working 27.5 hours over 39 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £16,386.24 per annum.
