Job Description

To manage a team of officers in the enforcement and administration of Trading Standards legislation and provision of consumer advice. To assist with the overall management and administration of the Trading Standards service.

Deputise for Trading Standards Manager as required
Calibration, care and maintenance of physical Standard Weights and Measures and testing equipment
Liaison with other bodies
Contribute to the formulation and implementation of and complying with the objectives, policies and procedures of the Trading Standards Section

The Individual

Significant post qualification experience in Trading Standards
Diploma in Trading Standards or equivalent and to be able to act as an Inspector of Weights and Measures
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Analytical approach
IT Skills

Self confident and self motivated
Sound knowledge of range of Trading Standard duties
Able to lead a team of officers
Motivational skills
Initiative and creativity
Able to plan, delegate and monitor team workload
Satisfactory enhanced ‘Disclosure Scotland’ return required
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van

Interviews to be held on Thursday 15 March 2018
