ROLE DEFINITION

 

To ensure the safe transportation and care of vulnerable service users to and from their homes or other venues

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Responsibilities

 

  • To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

 

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

 

  • To assist Service Users to access transport and use this safely.
  • To ensure Service Users are securely seated on transport.
  • To attend to any other situation which may arise whilst escorting the service user to provide the best possible customer service.
  • To communicate with parents/carers/next of kin as appropriate and other staff and to pass on any relevant information.
  • To attend for escorting under the direction of management.
  • To assist with provision of direct support of Service Users when not required to escort
  • To work within the unit on general errands and tasks when required
  • To contribute to risk assessments involving the transportation of Service Users.
  • To be capable of undertaking Movement and Handling and CALM training.
