An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Outreach Services team delivering library support to the public across North Lanarkshire.

As a key member of our Outreach Services team, based in Fir Park Secondary School, Motherwell, you will be responsible for operating the mobile library services across the North Lanarkshire Council area.  This is a key and valued service within our local communities and requires enthusiastic individuals with excellent customer care skills and an interest in books and reading.

The post includes driving, operating and maintaining the mobile library vehicle, carrying out all safety checks and providing front line services including issuing items to a range of customers, arranging requests and maintaining databases. A range of preparation work and Home Delivery services are also required.

All candidates should either possess a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC), be working towards the completion of it or be required to undergo appropriate training to obtain this qualification.

As a requirement of these posts, the successful candidates must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) membership through Disclosure Scotland.

This post is fixed term for 23 months.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip.  You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
