NLC is committed to providing modern, digital services and harnessing digital tools and systems to enhance all services of the Council. The IT Vision is for more responsive digital technology, giving both staff and customers the tools and services they need to operate in an increasingly interconnected digital world.
This role sits within the DigitalNL implementation programme, which is a multi-disciplined team leading on the transformation to Digital Services, looking both internally and externally across the Council and beyond.
You will have an SVQ4/HND/degree in a relevant discipline and a professional communications qualification would be advantageous.
You will possess substantial practical experience of managing communication and stakeholder engagement activities across a broad range of channels. You will have experience in developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies and plans. Experience gained in the delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement management skills within a programme and multi project environment is desirable.
A self-motivated individual with proven ability to work collaboratively within a high functioning leadership team which values innovation and creativity is essential.
You will have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for customer liaison and the ability to establish and build strong working relationships. The ability to produce informative and engaging content for a variety of channels and audiences is essential along with experience in digital communications through social media, website and an interest in emerging online trends.
The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate in clear, relevant and concise ways to engage with a range of stakeholders.
You will have good IT skills and competent ability in the use in MS Office applications.
A current driving licence would also be desirable
This is a key role to support the design stage of the ambitious DigitalNL programme and is a fixed term appointment until 31 December 2018. This could be extended beyond the design stage if the implementation of the envisaged 5-10 year programme is approved.
