NLC is committed to providing modern, digital services and harnessing digital tools and systems to enhance all services of the Council. The IT Vision is for more responsive digital technology, giving both staff and customers the tools and services they need to operate in an increasingly interconnected digital world.
This role sits within the DigitalNL implementation programme, which is a multi-disciplined team leading on the transformation to Digital Services, looking both internally and externally across the Council and beyond.
You will be educated to SVQ4/HND/general degree level or equivalent qualification with experience of programme/project co-ordination and administration.
You will possess extended experience of programme/project support type activities within a project and/or team-based environment. You will have good working knowledge of project management principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management and recording of programme / projects and related activities through to the successful achievement of planned business benefits.
A self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with a flexible, positive and proactive attitude, you will be well-organised, pay attention to detail and able to demonstrate capability of problem solving, creating and enhancing business processes. You will have the ability to cope with a demanding workload whilst maintaining high levels of quality, ensuring deadlines are met over a wide range of tasks and competing priorities.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to establish and build strong working relationships and positively engage stakeholders at all levels both within and external to the Council.
The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as good IT skills, particularly in MS Office.
A current driving licence would also be desirable.
This is a key role to support the design stage of the ambitious DigitalNL programme and is a fixed term appointment until 31 December 2018. This could be extended beyond the design stage if the implementation of the envisaged 5-10 year programme is approved.
