Based in one of our depots, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective repair and maintenance of the Council’s Fleet, ensuring that systems and controls are in place to maximise workshop productivity and minimise costs.

Customer focused with a HNC, SVQ3, Apprenticeship or equivalent in a related discipline, you will have extended experience in a relevant field including experience of supervising a team and the day-to-day provision of workshop services. You will also have experience of managing Health & Safety in a workshop environment and be aware of legislative directives and imperatives for fleet management and how to put these into practice.

Excellent organisational, IT and communications skills are essential along with experience of audit procedures and ensuring that performance measures are maintained and work is undertaken to required standards. It is also essential that you have an understanding of compliance requirements with regards to Fleet vehicles and are able to analyse data and produce relevant reports.

You must have a current driving licence.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip.  You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
