£30,352 - £33,893 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)
In February 2003, the Scottish Executive launched the National Physical Activity Strategy which clearly defined Active Schools as an area of focus. Sportscotland and Orkney Islands Council are committed to the Active Schools Network and it’s fundamental aim of offering all children and young people the opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles, now and into adulthood.
This is a key appointment to support the current, and develop new, opportunities for school pupils to participate in regular, frequent, safe and fun physical activity. As a result, you must have at least one year's experience of working with young people in the areas of education, sport; and be educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
The post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
