Do you have what it takes to help people improve their reading, writing, spelling, grammar, numeracy and guide them into further education or employment?

At The Learning Link we have taught hundreds of people over the years, helping them to 'brush-up' on their basic skills and gain enough confidence to apply for a college course or a new job.

To help us to reach and help even more people we are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and talented people to join our successful CLD adult learning team.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching literacy, numeracy and ESOL in formal/informal settings.

You should hold a relevant qualification at SCQF level 8/9 (e.g., SVQ4, HND, General Degree, etc) or, where such qualification is not held, have a minimum of 5 years' previous relevant experience of teaching or training with adults.

You should also hold professional registration as a Member of the CLD Standards Council for Scotland, or work towards achieving registration within 6 months of appointment.

Applicants should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

These posts are subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.

Prospective applicants are invited to discuss the posts by contacting Walter Gorman, Team Leader (Adult & Family Learning), tel: 01856 873535 ext: 2423 or email

Closing Date: Sunday 9 October 2022

Please note that interview expenses are not payable for this post.
