The All Age Learning Disabilities, Short Breaks and Supported Living Network services and Glaitness Centre are based in Kirkwall.
The Supported Living Network delivers a Housing Support and Care at Home Service to enable individuals to live independently and manage their own tenancies and a Short Breaks Service offers individuals who have a Learning Disability the opportunity to have flexible short stays to enable them and their families to have a break. The Glaitness Centre comprises of purpose built Supported Accommodation, a Short Breaks service, and day care facilities for people with physical disabilities.
The post holder will be based in the St. Colm’s Short Breaks and Supported Living Network office.
Working in a team, with the ability to work on your own initiative, you will adopt a person centred approach to deliver a high standard, flexible and responsive service, providing support and assistance to organise/arrange the work routines for a group of staff undertaking shift work, while maintaining the quality standards of the service at all times.
Experience in general administrative and reception duties and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential. You will have a good understanding of office systems and procedures. Duties will include processing and monitoring financial and payroll information, maintaining records, producing monthly returns, and other administrative requirements, as delegated, within a demanding environment.
You must be highly motivated and have a flexible approach to all aspects of work. Communication and organisational skills must be of the highest standard as you will be required to work as part of a team liaising with staff, service users, families, external agencies and professionals.
Applicants should hold an SVQ 2, or equivalent level qualification, in a relevant subject, e.g., business administration/customer care and an ECDL would be an advantage.
