To be appointed at G5:
You should have a good general standard of education, including literacy and numeracy, and a minimum of 2 years work or volunteering experience involving children.
You are also required to achieve an HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ Level 3 (SCQF7) Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up post.

For both G5 and G6, you are required to be registered with the SSSC, as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children, no later than 6 months from commencing in post.
The contracted hours in this post may be worked at other settings to provide cover during holiday periods. The majority of annual leave should be taken during the school holidays.
