Early Years Practitioner

30 hours per week, 41 weeks per year, Term time
Temporary up to 2 July 2021
£21,652 – £23,440 / £24,097 - £26,378 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our team in the above Early Learning and Childcare setting. This is an exciting time for early learning and childcare, and we are looking for an enthusiastic person who would enjoy being part of a team to help deliver flexible, high quality care that meets the needs of children aged 2 to 5 years.

To be appointed at G5: You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and a minimum of 2 years work or volunteering experience involving children. You are also required to achieve an HNC in Early Education and Child Care, SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up post. You must register with the SSSC, within 6 months of appointment to the post, as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children.

To be appointed at G6: You should have at least one years' experience of working with young children in a dedicated early learning and child care setting (this may be in a training or student role). You are also required to achieve an HNC in Early Education and Child Care, SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or other recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up post. You must register with the SSSC, within 6 months of appointment to the post, as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
