Mobile Community Responder
30 hours per week, shift working over 7 days including night duty
£21,588 - £22,785 pro rata (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)
The Responder Service provides a speedy response following falls or other emergencies in the home, ensuring that individuals can remain safely and independently in their own homes and enjoy quality of life.
The work will be both challenging and varied, and under guidance from the Responder Co-ordinator you will enable individuals to achieve as much independence as possible, through the provision of assistive technology, and the ongoing 24 hour emergency support of the team.
This post would ideally suit someone who has recent work experience in the social care field or similar. You will need the sort of personality that enjoys interacting with people and making a difference to their lives. If you are motivated, caring, honest, can remain calm in a crisis and have a sense of fun, then this could be the job for you and we are waiting to hear from you.
You should hold an SVQ 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent qualification or achieve this qualification within 3 years.
The work could be anywhere on the Orkney mainland, so a driving licence is a requirement for the post.
