Orkney College UHI is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above full-time post. Applications for part time working would also be considered.
The position of Receptionist has a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the main office. Duties are varied and will include dealing with enquiries whether through the main switchboard, face to face or by e-mail, in a timely and courteous manner, processing mail, undertaking photocopying, binding, filing and other office tasks as required. In addition, the role provides administration support to college staff, including the short course department, by assisting in the preparation of materials and course certificates and inputting student enrolment forms.
The successful applicant should have experience in dealing with members of the public in a customer focussed environment, as well as in using a range of Microsoft Office packages.
Applicants are required to hold a qualification at SCQF level 5/6, (e.g. SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grades, Intermediate 2, etc.) in an Administration related subject or, where the essential qualification is not held, have a minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience.
The post holder must have the ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
