Secretary to the College Management Team

35 hours per week
Temporary up to 16 August 2024
£24,641 - £26,429 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Orkney College UHI has a temporary vacancy for the position of Secretary to the College Management Team. The post holder will provide administrative support to the Principal and College Management Team, and an efficient clerking service to the College Management Team, cross-college committees and informal meetings of the College Management Council, along with a variety of general administrative duties.

The post holder will also be required to provide efficient administrative support relating to records management, and for the HR and recruitment service for Orkney College UHI. This includes maintaining staff records for the processing of monthly timesheets, and assisting in the recruitment process. It is therefore essential that the successful applicant shows an appreciation and awareness of the importance of accuracy and confidentiality.

Applicants must be educated to SCQF level 6/7 (e.g. SVQ3 or HNC) in an administration related area, or have a minimum of 3 years’ previous relevant experience.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
