Senior Administrative Officer
35 hours per week
£24,127 - £26,408 (including Distant Islands Allowance)
The successful candidate will assist in the supervision of and form part of an established Orkney Ferries team which provides all aspects of financial and administrative support to the operation of the internal ferry service. The post holder will be required to undertake a wide variety of duties within this demanding environment and we therefore require someone who can demonstrate strong organisational skills and someone who has the ability to prioritise their own workload whilst working under pressure and to strict deadlines.
One of the core elements of the role will be to provide an office management role, including branch offices and support to a number of team members. It also involves regular contact and liaison with the general public and clients, recruiting tasks and being the level 1 complaints officer.
To fulfill these requirements you will need to be an articulate communicator with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to relate well with others, experience of dealing with the public and clients is essential.
An SVQ level 3/HNC or equivalent level qualification in Administration or Business related subjects is essential or, where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a relevant administrative role is required.
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages and management database systems is essential as is a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
